Tell Me Something, Girl....

...are you happy in this modern world?

Can I be frank with you? Right now, that answer is a big fat 'no.' People have been so devastatingly mean to me. But let's move on! Shall we?

With my amazing PT ladies, I have shown them that I am able to be mobile in all areas except for transfers.

In OT, we were able to BAKE chocolate chip cookies today. It was so amazing!! I loved being able to use the oven safely. Have I mentioned how wonderful Christine is? I made cookies for the staff members, and I only ate two of mine. Wonderful lady asked me, when putting me in my room, if she could shower me the next day. Since it's my last day. My discharge day! Of course, I said yes. She is so wonderful and wanted to get me ready for going home!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

For my discharge today, I am labeled as: brain dysfunction: traumatic: closed injury.

I have been discharged home with my husband, and I made all of those decisions! Funny, not so funny, story. I was talking to someone on the phone, and they asked me where I was living at now. Mind you, this was just last week. I said, "huh?" I was so confused! They said, 'well are you back with your husband or are you living with your parents?' My beautiful people, my husband never left me and I have never left my husband!! In fact, my husband has been the ONLY person who hasn't left me.

Shall I continue on?

With being discharged home, I have referrals setup with outpatient PT, SLP, and OT. Also, workers compensation will not be paying for my stay, so we will see what this bill comes out to! All God's work and His will be done.

This was my final signature at Sheltering Arms. It was signed at 10AM. When I left!

And my summary uno mas!

The drive home was definitely a blur. We drove so slowly; it was like having a new baby on board! After two hours, we pulled into our long, gravel driveway. It's almost a mile long! At the start of the driveway, there were balloons. Then as we started driving up there were people lining the drive and cheering me on! I started to cry; I was so happy! I saw my neighbors, my church family, people from my husband's work, and my husband's family. I got out of the vehicle with my husband's help, and I got to talk to those who were at the end of my driveway. They hugged me and I got to Facetime my sweet church sister, who was in a different city. My Pastor came up and prayed over me and with the assistance of our other Pastor, everyone sung "The Blessing" over me. It was truly a sweet moment.

Once I trekked inside, my house was all decorated with signs of 'welcome home' and posters made for me and balloons with streamers everywhere! Even to this day, all of the posters are hung up on my wall. It was truly an amazing moment. I'll share photos so YOU can feel the welcoming of everyone.
