This is my second song in therapy!! The therapy done in Virginia is through Anderson Music Therapy. Just simply let them know that you are with a certain program and that you are a TBI survivor! Some great programs to get involved with are Brain Injury Association of Virginia, Brain Injury Connections of the Shenandoah Valley, and Brain Injury Solutions. Now I'm sure there are more programs. But I am connected with the Shenandoah Valley one and I take classes from the other two (virtually), as they are both pretty far from me!
But here is my song before I go on another rampage!
[Verse]
When it rains it pours, I feel so overwhelmed
My body starts to shut down, it's hard to process when I’m still healing
The struggle of remembering things from my past
[Chorus]
The sky is finally open, rain and wind stopped blowin'
But I’m stuck out in the same old storm again
Hold tight to your umbrella, darling I'm just trying to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hanging over my head
[Verse]
If you could see what I see, you'd be blinded by the colors
My therapies and surgeries amongst all the others
Advocating for other survivors and spreading the word about brain injuries
[Chorus]
The sky is finally open, rain and wind stopped blowin'
But I’m stuck out in the same old storm again
Hold tight to your umbrella, darling I'm just trying to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hanging over my head
[Bridge]
Traumatic Brain Injuries affect everyone differently
We all have our own stories
[Chorus]
'Cause the sky is finally open, rain and wind stopped blowing
But I’m stuck out in the same old storm again
Let go of your umbrella, darling I'm just trying to tell ya
That there's always been a rainbow hanging over my head
There's always been a rainbow hanging over my head
