Today I had music therapy. It was soothing, wonderful, and downright hilarious!
We are rewriting a song called, “We Live,” by Superchic[k]. I saw them in concert back in the day!!
We really want to take our time on this song as it’s really about the ‘now.’ About the positivity I desire and how I find it. There are multiple Bible verses I want to include in this.
”He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”“ Matthew 17:20 NIV
”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“ Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
”“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”“
John 16:33 NIV
When I mentioned these verses and why I lean on them, she wasn’t too familiar with John 16:33. So I repeated it for her as she wrote it out. She was like, “wait. Is it I will take over the world?”
I broke out laughing!!! I said through my tears, “no! It’s I have overcome the world!! This isn’t Pinky and the Brain!”
“Ahh!” She said, “that makes more sense!”
After some wiping of tears she said, “you’re welcome.” And it reminded me of my husband!! Even when I don’t thank him he says it!!
Then I gave her this verse.
”Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.“

I also gave her my rewrite of this verse.
Though I’m impaired and need assistance here and there, though my face is paralyzed and I cannot even smile, though my brain is damaged and I cannot remember most of my memories. Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Even though I have experienced so many struggles, I will still give thanks and praise God.
So we are incorporating my rewrite into the song as well!
I also told her about the time I received a message from a random woman who was a family friend from back home. I write about God a lot and my faith. She told me that I can’t rely on faith alone. I need my family back.
I wanted to say that they chose this. But I didn’t. I let her know that I will stay strong in my faith!
So that’s being added into my song as well. We finished the first verse and we will continue it in future sessions!
I’m excited for this song!!
Towards the end of our session I told her that I had a dream about being a part of the royal family and we had family pictures taken in England.
She looked it up and said my dream meant that I want to be respected. That’s all I’ve wanted in this journey!! My husband is absolutely respectful, but those that left me for their normalcy couldn’t respect my desires for positivity. Instead they all went against me. She let me know that it all makes sense with my journey!!
