...so what you show me now is part of my new memories! So hopefully you are showing me something good so I can think of you positively and know you are a safe place. If not, well.... I will just remove you from my life and IF you can be positive, then maybe you'll find a spot back in my life. Surely it won't be the same; you won't be my safe place. But I have plenty of amazing people who are safe to me. So don't worry if you or someone you know has suffered TBI and Strokes! It is absolutely possible to create safe, positive environments! They or you just have to set healthy boundaries for yourself. It's okay to do and not selfish at all!

Let's talk long-term PT goals, okay? I believe last time we were on the short-term track,

  • Patient to demonstrate home exercise program independently. Which I had an app for and submitted all exercises to him when I was home!

  • Patient will demonstrate proper gait mechanics for safe ambulation and zero falls. I'm still working on my gait, but I've been safe with no falls!! AND I'm getting ready for a wonderful round of gait therapy.

  • Patient will show a 22 point improvement on FOTO functional status measure to improve overall functional performance.

  • Patient will ambulate independently on even/uneven surfaces without AD at least half a mile. Okay, so this one is still a struggle bus on uneven surfaces. I either need a person or a trekking pole (walking stick) to perform this one well.

With Dr. Clanton, from Sheltering Arm, I got the okay to stop two medications as the dizziness subsided. I could wean myself off of the Trazodone. My main complaint right now, as said in the doctor's notes, "wants to run a tough mudder.

Sounds like me!! haha

But overall, I was in SAI for about a month; made excellent progress. I will continue to be on Keppra as I haven't had a seizure since I started it. It is also noted that my vision is STILL blurry, but I'll be seeing a Neuro Ophthalmologist to get things moving forward on my eyes!! Quick catch up to today... I'm having surgery!!! Hooray!

I think for now those are pretty good updates on how things went after I was discharged. There is still PLENTY more! As in, a year more.... So, this wonderful blog will keep going! I'm excited to continue to talk about my journey and I hope and pray you realize what's really important and how quickly a person's life can change!!
