Shall we?
I was delightfully reminded a little while back that I have so much to be thankful for. Along with my TBI, I had three strokes.
1) Cerebellar stroke 2) Brainstem stroke 3) Thalamic stroke
These strokes brought me to a NEAR life ending point. Now it is… life altering, and some days feels devastating.
So much has happened since my accident, and I wouldn’t call any of it good. For those who know me, know my story intimately.
But goodness my God… He is absolutely wonderful. He will ALWAYS love you and He will NEVER forsake you.
My husband told me that I am more spiritual now than I was before.
See with one of my strokes, my memory has faded significantly.
With a couple other strokes my vision is impaired. I have severe double vision. I can’t drive. So, I rely on other people for my doctor visits, therapy sessions, and to socialize.
Please, the next time you are driving…ENJOY IT. Give grace to those around you, be patient at all stops, and truly love what you are doing - DRIVING!
Notice the way you are behind the wheel. Soak it up and take a deep breath in. You truly never know whether you’ll be able to do this always, or if it’ll be taken from you.
Enjoy life and be thankful God has given you another day to breathe.
In thinking and doing these things - you have practiced mindfulness.
You’re welcome.
