My cranioplasty follow up! Over a week later and I saw my neurosurgeon! This is what his office said:
I have just seen your patient, Jessica Damico, in follow-up for suture removal in the neurosurgery clinic at the University of Virginia Hospital. She is a 34 y.o. female approximately 10 days status post bifrontal cranioplasty. She tolerated the procedure well and it was without complication. She denies any difficulty with wound healing, fever, chills, nausea or vomiting. There have been no changes in her medical condition.
On physical examination, she is a well-developed, well-nourished female in no acute distress. Her surgical incision is healing well and her sutures were removed without difficulty. There is no evidence of drainage, erythema, edema, or subcutaneous fluid collection. Her extremities are non-tender and without clubbing, cyanosis or edema. On neurological examination, she is alert and cooperative.
Ms. Damico is a 34 y.o. female approximately 10 days s/p bifrontal cranioplasty. I am pleased that she is doing so well. I have reinforced that she should not pick up more than 10 pounds and avoid straining. We will plan to see her back for further follow up in 3 weeks. She understands that she can contact us at anytime if she has any questions or concerns.
And that’s it for this round!!
