“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” “A man may die, nations may rise and fall, but an idea lives on.” “The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.” - John F. Kennedy, President
Todays post is a little bit diffrent. Why? because it's about today!
Jason and I put our names in a hat and we were drawn! We went through all of the necessary background checks to be able to go into the White House. We waited an incredibly long time in a ridiculously long line. I was wearing an eye patch and my eyes kept watering ridiculously! I mean, they are trying to lubricate themselves since I can't close them.
When we got to the front, all of our boys had to tell the Secret Service Agent their date of birth. Today is our oldest son's birthday and the agent told him Happy Birthday!
We get into the White House and it is MASSIVE! Jason calls ahead of time, like usual, whenever there's a step. I graciously grab onto his arm if the step is too big for me to take.
We take pictures of the rooms and take pictures of the boys. It was an amazing, historic experience! And I am glad I was able to take it all in.
Towards the end, our sweet boy was greeted by a Secret Service Agent and asked if he wanted him to sign his cast. Our guy was super excited and said of course! The agent only had a pen on him but as shown below, he pressed as hard as could and signed it! Which made our son super happy!
Over the course of our time at the White House I was keeping all who was there in my prayers.
I say a little prayer for yooouuu.
That's me singing the song.
I bet that was so exciting! Glad you all had a fun day 😊
