Yours Is The Name ABOVE All Names

And what a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus!

I praise God all day, every day for a successful turnout in all of this!

Day two of rehab and I had an amazing night's sleep! I still can't speak and respond by shaking my head either 'yes' or 'no.' They found a tumor on my liver, albeit not large, and it's noncancerous! God is seriously working His amazing magic.

They are quickly learning that I only move my eyes vertically and can't move them horizontally. This is still my issue to this day! My eye muscles on the outside of both of my eyes are super weak and we are looking at potential surgery to correct them!

With OT today, they found a TON of impairments. I need total assistance with grooming and dressing and putting on my shoes. When brushing my teeth, I had difficulty opening my mouth. All of this was done at bedside since I cannot walk or am not mobile. I had some trach pain, but it was mild. I could not bring any of my fingers to my nose and needed maximum assistance with holding my upper body up while sitting at the edge of the bed. They did not attempt eating today for safety concerns.

We have made a wonderful list of goals!

  • Upper and Lower body dressing independently.

  • Being able to put on my footwear.

  • Actually EATING

  • Bathing/Showering by myself

  • Oral hygiene

  • Toileting independently

With amazing PT today, we did a lot of mobility exercises. They found that I need complete assistance when sitting up, laying down, transferring to a chair, and rolling my wheelchair. I have yet to master that movement. As far as trying to take steps or step up onto something, or even picking up an object, we did not attempt those things for safety concerns.

Some long-term goals we have made for me:

  • Sitting independently

  • Standing independently

  • Transferring independently

  • Walk more than 10+ feet on even surfaces.

  • Climb 12+ stairs using a rail!

I did my Speech training today as well! My husband was present with this therapeutic training or assessment. They did not want to try swallowing at all and have noted that I should only brush my teeth with really thin liquids and suctioning. She tried out the speaking valve and I was able to produce sound! She went over some goals with my husband and included him with the training, so he understood. My cognitive score was a 6 as of right now, which means that I'm in a state of confusion. But the hope is that we make that better with time!

I think, now, that overall God was VERY present. I could not see it then, maybe because of my cognitive deficits, but I certainly see it now!

As Reckless Love states, He leaves the 99 to find His ONE lost sheep. He rejoices when He finds the ONE. That gives me unbelievable goosebumps!!
