I've read through some meeting notes that the doctors had with my family. It was disheartening to read and I felt my family's concerns.
The first meeting was after a week. I wasn't improving and in fact I was getting worse. I had pneumonia and fluid around my lungs. They inserted a chest tube to get the fluid out. But my EEG wasn't showing any brain activity and my EKG wasn't showing reactions to loud noises. The doctors wanted to know what my family was going to do since there was no activity. They agreed that they didn't want to put me through anything excruciating to stay alive. But they wanted to give me more time.
LifeNet for organ transplant discussed with my doctor they were not staying on set. The Chaplain remained on site to be with my mother. My mother was upset and how could God allow this to happen. Don't worry, my story isn't done!!
The next meeting was a little longer. About a week and a half. The doctors are stating there is no reaction out of me and I'm not improving. My family was going to take the next day to think. The doctors are stating I will be confined to a bed and I will not improve. The chances are low that I will improve.
