I Will Send Out an Army...

...I will rescue you.

This goes for anyone who is experiencing a tragedy in their lives. You have read the beginning of my tragedy, brace yourselves for the next...and the next...and the next.

"I hear you whisper you have nothing left."

Amongst all of those tragedies, I have some amazing victories. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Regardless, I am praying for you RIGHT NOW.

I think it's great for everyone to have a sort of belief system. Without my belief in Christ, I don't think I would be here right now. I would love to hear about your system of belief, as long as you don't mind that I will share mine with you! I won't push it. I'm not a pushy person. No worries!

Today with PT, I've only used ONE handrail and with my side steps I only needed assistance for balance recovery. So not too bad! She said I am making good gains. I love banana.

With OT, Listerine had me doing laundry and cutting food for meal preparation! I had to stand to do the laundry though. I stood at the counter and folded the towels. It's great to get back into the feel of ordinary life again! My parents were there with me and nodded that they understood my ADL tasks.

With SLP, my parents and stepmother were in the room with me. She loved telling me a story and then halfway through our session she would ask me questions about the story she has told me. Well, today I got 75% of the questions correct! She also asked me the normal questions on the orientation log, and I got a 30 out of 30! So, I am getting SO MUCH BETTER.

For my discharge protocol, I am required to have a seat in the shower and a walker. In the shower I need a chair because I can transfer to the shower but once inside, I am unsteady. So, a seat in the shower is nice and safe for me! I have to have a walker, as a cane is not an option because my gait isn't the best and I fatigue quickly. Also, I cannot have a wheelchair because we simply do not have an accessible home for one! But a walker, we can do as it decreases the burden for the caregivers.
