This is the moment when I have spiky fevers. The doctors go in and run tests on me to see what is wrong, Doctors have found that I have a growing infection in my pleural cavity. So, they go in and perform a VATs to get the infection out and find that I also have bacteria growing that they found to be MSSA.
Chest tubes #1 and #3 have been removed. Yay!! At this point I can do very little to make improvements. Doctors have noted that I like to keep my head facing the right side. What they don't know is that I am deaf in my left ear, so by laying on my right side I can't hear anything. LOL Doctors have all noted that I am ill appeared and that I answer weakly and with delay. They normally have to repeat the question for me to get it. I can sit up on my own, but I grow fatigued at 10 minutes.
At this time the doctors all thought it was necessary for me to go through another surgery for pleural empyema. They saw where there was additional growth on my left lung but saw where they tried to scrape it unsuccessfully and left it to avoid further damage to my left lung.
After surgery a small test was given to me to see what I could, or couldn't, do. My supportive husband was still at my bedside. My doctor said that I couldn't really close my eyes or track with them. I was answering with head nods or thumbs up/down for questions asked to me. I was unable to use my voice at this time.
