Moments of Affliction

I know I haven't written in a while. I guess this post isn't really about TBI, but instead about pain and Jesus. Because who better to know pain?

I am sure there were times where Jesus felt betrayed. Honestly, right now, I am feeling alone and betrayed. I know how painful this is. You know those moments when people who were so close to you, walk out?

And I mean... walk out.

There is something to be said and to be shown when a woman is set aside. It is in this time that God is setting her apart. To be set aside is to be forgotten and rejected. To be set apart is to live in your God-given identity as His daughter - redeemed, chosen, hand-picked!

When you are feeling alone, I want you to breathe. You're brave, beautiful, and hand-picked! The Lord will restore you, redeem you, and write His glorious story onto the pages of your life. Just...hold on.

Right now, I am reading a wonderful book called, "Songs of Suffering." It is by Joni Eareckson Tada. This book was given to me by a beautiful soul from church after I came home from the in-patient rehabilitation center. In this book, she writes about 25 different hymns. You see she is a paraplegic. and had to learn late in life to be a paraplegic. To have people feed you and get you dressed. So, she knows all about painful suffering.

In her book she writes about a different story in suffering with each hymn. It starts out with incredible pain but each story ends with glorifying the Father.

Ever notice we really only reach out to Christ in despair? He wants us all the time! Even when we are the happiest, He wants us to go to Him. He wants to share in our happiness too!

I have dealt with pain on an emotional level and also on a level of having TBI. Normalcy just doesn't exist for me right now. At this point, who knows when that will happen.

" Yes, there are many crosses, and every one of them is heavy and painful. And it is unlikely that I would seek out even one of them on my own. Yet Jesus is never as near to me as when I lift my cross, lay it submissively on my shoulder, and welcome it with a patient and uncomplaining spirit."
